BellCat Strategic Inc. ("BellCat", "we", "us") is a marketing strategy firm based in Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through bellcat.ca and our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • Information you give us. When you email us or book a consultation, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you share it), company name and anything you include in your message or booking.

  • Website usage information. Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to give us basic visit statistics, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type.

  • Client account information. When we manage advertising, analytics or search accounts for a client, we may access performance data in those accounts (for example, Meta, Google Analytics or Google Search Console) with the client's permission. This data is used only to deliver reporting and services to that client.

How we use it

  • To respond to your questions and schedule consultations

  • To deliver and report on the services you hire us for

  • To understand how visitors use our website and improve it

  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, such as Squarespace (website hosting), Acuity Scheduling (bookings), Google Workspace (email and documents) and Meta (advertising reporting). These providers may store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

Meta and advertising data

BellCat uses a Meta app to read advertising performance data for ad accounts we manage on behalf of clients. The app has read-only access, is used only to create performance reports for those clients, and does not collect information from the public or from people who see the ads.

Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work properly without them.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls and secure, password-protected accounts, to protect personal information.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to how we use it, by emailing curiousity@bellcat.ca. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
